Messengers who were mentioned in quran.

As Allah says in surah annisaa ayah (164)

 وَرُسُلاً قَدْ قَصَصْنَـهُمْ عَلَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ وَرُسُلاً لَّمْ نَقْصُصْهُمْ عَلَيْكَ وَكَلَّمَ اللَّهُ مُوسَى تَكْلِيماً..

And Messengers We have mentioned to you before, and Messengers We have not mentioned to you, and to Musa Allah spoke directly..

Allah has sent messengers and prophets as bearers of good news and warning, in order that mankind should have no plea against Allah after the (coming of) Messengers.

            So as here in this ayah, the number of prophets who were sent before the prophet Muhammad their number are not exactly known.

But how about messengers in quran ?

there were twenty five prophets mentioned in quran from the first one on this earth, our father (Adam) peace be upon him to the seal prophet, the prophet of the whole nation and for the whole world, arabs and non arabs who is the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
